About Power 2 Connect
We are working to deliver digital equality in Wandsworth
Power to Connect believes that everyone deserves equal access to technology. It’s our job to ensure every young resident has access to the same connectivity, tech, and skills, irrespective of their background.
In April 2020, Power to Connect was set up as a partnership between Wandsworth Council and Battersea Power Station (BPSDC).
We set out to raise awareness of digital exclusion and to support local families across Wandsworth who were struggling to access homeschooling due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Incorporated as an independent Community Interest Company in May 2020, we have collected, updated, and delivered laptops, tablets, and desktop computers to schools and community organizations in Wandsworth, and so far delivered over 2,000.
In September 2020, Power to Connect was awarded the Community Impact Award at the Tech4Good Awards by AbilityNet, sponsored by BT.
Over 2 years on we’re on a mission to provide technology and skills to parts of the community that are digitally excluded, helping to close the digital divide.
