These major challenges continue to dominate and we have seen them have a major impact on local businesses. Combining our experience in the work we do with our clients and current trends in people management, we share our predictions around the risks and opportunities that shouldn’t be avoided this year and we will give you strategies to manage these challenges.
Good people are in short supply The supply from traditional talent pools is low and retaining talent in a hybrid environment is difficult. Along with the cost-of-living crisis, people are reluctant to move which is leading to less successful recruitment rates. Managers and leaders that don’t have the right skills are holding businesses back Recent studies show that the number of employees that leave a business for better development opportunities is the same as those that leave for more pay. Health and well-being – sometimes what you can’t see has the biggest impact Recent studies show that nearly 60% of employees are stressed at their jobs every day and the UK loses 131 million working days a year due to ill health according to the CBI. Recent changes in employment law have serious consequences if they are missed Fit note digitalisation and changes to right-to-work checks call for a different way of working but have they been picked up? With so many other priorities in 2022, we often come across local businesses that are blissfully unaware. Join David Hudson on 17th February from 1.00-2.00pm for practical advice on how to avoid risks and how you can capitalise on the opportunities that 2023 will bring. Do bring your questions. more info... |

In this free training you will learn the tools to identify and support customers who may become vulnerable, either in venues or on the streets. This is a step further than standard safeguarding training, as it teaches attendees how to deal with specific issues that they may encounter as part of their shift, and is built around real case studies and best practice. This training also empowers staff to recognise hotspots within their venues, enabling their customers to enjoy a safer night out. The training is focused on group activities encouraging participants to think about the venues they work in and the situations they have experienced.
